On December 10, 2012, Jacqueline Mesa, Director of the Office of International Affairs of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, discussed regulatory reform in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis in a Washington Foreign Law Society event entitled “International Aspects of Derivatives Regulation Under Dodd-Frank.”  The event – which drew a diverse group of attendees from the private and public sectors, academia, as well as representatives of foreign governments – provided an overview of international consensus in regulatory reform through the G-20 Leaders Commitment as well as the importance of international harmonization in rule-making. …Read more »

Reception Honoring Mexico

On November 13, the Washington Foreign Law Society honored Mexico at its annual reception in the State Department Diplomatic Reception Rooms.  The event was co-sponsored with Harold Koh, the State Department’s Legal Adviser. Re-Argument Discussion with Counsel in Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum

Royal Dutch Petroleum and others who have been closely following the case.
