Earlier this year, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed D.C. Circuit’s ruling that international organizations have virtually absolute immunity to U.S. lawsuits under the International Organizations Immunities Act and held that international organizations do not enjoy broader immunity than foreign governments.
The panel will present and discuss relevant statutes and cases involving international organizations in the United States and in the international community, and analyze the implications of the Supreme Court’s decision in Jam v. the International Finance Corporation, both within the U.S. and globally.
